Our History
WELCOME TO THE WHEATSHEAF
Grade II listed and dating back to 1779, The Wheatsheaf blends a traditional bar with flagstone floors, log fires and warm beamed ceilings, alongside an elegant restaurant set in the former stables and a first-floor private dining room. We also offer five luxury guest rooms above the pub.
A family-run freehouse, The Wheatsheaf is managed and part-owned by us, David Jex and Amanii Brittan, who personally select every product we serve.
After stumbling across what was then ‘The Bingham’, we fell for the building immediately and knew we wanted to restore its original name, The Wheatsheaf. With the support of the local community, we reopened in August 2016—just a month after first stepping inside.
